Shredders Privacy Policy

ACL Solutions LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Shredders mobile application and web application (collectively, the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Shredders.

1. Information We Collect

Location Data

With your permission, Shredders may access your device's location to:

• Calculate distances to ski resorts and mountains
• Provide relevant road condition and trip planning information
• Show nearby mountains and conditions

Location data is processed locally on your device and is not stored on our servers. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.

Usage Data

We may automatically collect basic usage information, including:

• App features accessed
• Mountains viewed
• General interaction patterns

This data helps us improve the App and is not linked to your personal identity.

Chat Conversations

When you use the AI chat feature, your messages are processed to generate responses. Chat conversations are not permanently stored and are not used to train AI models.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Shredders does not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Account credentials or passwords
• Payment or financial information
• Precise location history or tracking data
• Contacts or address book information
• Photos, camera, or microphone data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide snow conditions, weather forecasts, and powder scores
• Calculate distances and provide trip planning features
• Improve App performance and user experience
• Fix bugs and technical issues

4. Data Sources

Shredders aggregates data from public sources to provide conditions information:

• SNOTEL: Snow depth and precipitation data from USDA monitoring stations
• NOAA: Weather forecasts from the National Weather Service
• Open-Meteo: Additional weather data

We do not control these third-party data sources and are not responsible for their accuracy.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• OpenAI: Powers the AI chat assistant. Chat messages are processed by OpenAI's API. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: Hosts our API infrastructure. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
• Apple: The iOS app is distributed through the App Store. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

We may share information only:

• With service providers who help operate the App (as described above)
• If required by law or legal process
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information:

• All API communications use HTTPS encryption
• No personal data is stored on our servers
• Location data is processed locally on your device

8. Data Retention

Since we do not collect personal information or create user accounts, there is no personal data retained on our servers. Usage analytics are aggregated and anonymized.

9. Your Choices

You have control over your data:

• Location: You can enable or disable location access in your device settings at any time
• App Data: You can delete all local app data by uninstalling the App

10. Children's Privacy

Shredders is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, through the App.
